Will the federal funder of Trump's TV ads be identified before the midterms?
·PoliticsIf the federal department, agency, or office that paid for the government-funded September 2026 television advertisements featuring President Trump has been publicly identified after Issuance and before Nov 3, 2026, then the market resolves to Yes.
For purposes of this market, the funding entity is publicly identified only when a Source Agency reports, as fact and not as speculation, rumor, or an unconfirmed possibility, which specific federal department, agency, sub-agency, or office paid for the placement of the September 2026 television advertisements featuring President Trump that were disclaimed on air as 'Paid for by the U.S. Government.' The White House or a component of the Executive Office of the President counts only if a Source Agency reports that the advertisements were paid for from that office's own appropriation or budget. A report that only says the White House released, produced, posted, or promoted the advertisements does not qualify. Nor does a report that attributes spending on, purchases of, or payment for the advertisements to the White House, the administration, or the government generally, including ad-spending estimates such as AdImpact's, without identifying the office, department, or agency whose funds paid for them. If more than one such advertisement aired in September 2026, qualifying identification of the funding entity for any one of them satisfies this market. Only reporting from any of the Source Agencies qualifies for the purposes of this market. Reports that merely reference prior publications (from before Issuance) do not qualify. Republishing of content originally produced by other sources (e.g., wire services) only qualifies if the content is hosted on the outlet's official platform and the outlet is clearly identified as the publishing entity.
